DESIGNING YOUR BIRTH
While we’re getting to know each other, we’ll talk about what you want for your birth and what will help you feel cared for once your baby is here. You can start with whatever’s on your mind.
We’ll talk about who you want beside you, what helps you feel safe, and what you want your care team to know. I’ll put your preferences in writing and make copies for your team. We can agree on a word or signal for when you want me to step in, and I’ll help anyone you invite to the birth practice ways to support you.
Before delivery, we’ll make a plan for meals, rest, and who you can ask for help. You’ll decide when you’re ready for visitors and what would make their time with you helpful. If you’d like me to be part of your postpartum care, we can talk through what that could look like.
