Plan for your first days home, too
While we’re talking about your birth, I like to ask what would help you feel cared for once you’re home. Who could bring dinner? Who could come by so you can rest? If you’re unsure how to ask, we can find words that feel like yours.
You get to decide when you’re ready for visitors. When someone offers to come over, it’s okay to give them one thing that would help. You might say, “I’d love to see you. Could you bring lunch when you come? I’d like to keep the visit short so I can rest afterward.”
Start with one person and one thing they could take off your plate. You deserve to be cared for while you care for your baby. We can talk through the rest together.
